Job Title: Technology Coordinator

 

Reports to:  Superintendent, technology supervisor

Education, Certification, and Experience: 

Two to three years of experience in computer technology related field, able to conduct basic troubleshooting and workstation tasks, supporting, repairing and working in general with technology equipment of various types in an education setting. Certification in the basics like CompTIA A+ certificate required, Network+ or cloud service certifications in for example Azure or Gsuite.

This job is a non-tenured position.

  • Ability to work closely with local school and district personnel to provide excellent computer service and support
  • Manages technology work order ticket system within the system
  • Ability to work cooperatively with network support vendors for installation and maintenance of network systems
  • Intermediate understanding of network technology hardware, including desktop computers, laptops, chromebooks, ipads, printers, projectors, smart boards, touch panels, digital cameras, etc.
  • Knowledge of Apple IOS, Microsoft Windows 10 and Server 2019
  • Working knowledge of PC/LAN application software including MS Office products and internet browsers
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various technical issues
  • Ability to independently learn new technology and provide instruction to others
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to instruct others in the proper use of technology
  • Support audio visual issues reported by staff
  • Sets up new devices, workstations, print stations, and assignments to default printers
  • Maintains data catalogue of inventory and performs record keeping functions of network hardware locations, assignments, quantities, types and required repairs, including start-up and end-of-year processes
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with support when necessary
  • Work with schools to establish and maintain effective network inventory tracking procedures for student devices
  • Have working knowledge of Mosyle to configure tablet carts for student use
  • Collaborate with the system Testing Coordinator on a regular basis to be aware of future online testing dates, time, and resources needed
  • Build a strategy and workflow so that all testing equipment and software ae ready for use on the day testing is being administered
  • Move equipment as needed to build temporary testing sites
  • Ensure all testing devices that are used for testing are in good working order before testing starts
  • When testing is complete, if necessary, return devices to their normal working mode and previous location in a timely manner to the devices can be used for instructional purposes
  • Respond to incident reports as received from staff in a timely and professional manner
  • Initiate problem escalation after effectively performing level of repair and work in a collaborative manner with authorized vendors who are assisting in troubleshooting the problem
  • Adhere to all system, state, and federal policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Provides desktop/chromebook/laptop troubleshooting
  • Perform other duties as assigned
